About Floyd Lock & Safe
Founded in 1945 as Floyd Total Security, the company originally provided only traditional locksmithing servicing and products to the greater Minneapolis, St. Paul, and Bloomington area in Minnesota. Floyd Total Security began selling alarm systems in 1968 and quickly became the leading lock and alarm company in the Twin Cities. By 1971, Floyd was monitoring its own customer’s alarm signals and in 1977, became a fully listed UL Monitoring Station.
Floyd Total Security was acquired by Per Mar Security Services in 2020, uniting the two family-owned company’s steadfast dedication to their employees and customers. Floyd Total Security transitioned its key and locksmithing services to a new division in Per Mar, Floyd Lock & Safe, and continues to provide locksmith services to homes and businesses in the Twin Cities. The electronic security operation was absorbed into Per Mar’s Monitoring Center as a second location out of Bloomington, and the addition of their alarm monitoring equipment and employees provides greater geographic redundancy to Per Mar’s monitoring operation.
