Everyday Rock Stars: Green Bay

Dec 19, 2019

In 2019 Per Mar launched its Everyday Rock Star Program. This program is a way for the company to acknowledge “Rock Star” employees throughout the Security Officer Division. These employees continually go above and beyond. They are leaders in their workplace and truly carryout the mission and values of Per Mar.

This blog highlights the Rock Stars from our Green Bay Branch. We asked each Rock Star a few questions to get to know them personally. Take a moment to learn about the person behind the Security Guard uniform!

Who is someone you admire, and why?
My mother, she has the Wisdom of Solomon. She is the reason why I am the man, husband, and father I am.

Name three words that describe you.
Talkative, Opinionated, and Friendly.

What’s a goal that you have for yourself that you want to accomplish in the next year?
My goal is to keep my employees here and to help develop them and see them grow.

What are some causes that you care about?
My fraternity, Alpha Phi Alpha, and recycling / single use plastic. When I saw the movie Happy Feet and the penguin had the plastic over his neck, I got so sad because that’s not just a movie. Its real life and happening all over the world.

What is the best piece of advice that somebody ever gave to you?
My old boss in April 1987 told me to always remain objective and since he told me and explained that, I have tried to remain objective in each situation.

What have you felt proud about accomplishing in your time here at Per Mar?
Bridging the gap between the team. When I was first hired as Site Supervisor, it was almost like there were two groups of employees that did not interact with one another. Now there is a team environment where all employees communicate.

If you were an animated character, who would you be and why?
The Brown Hornet, the first black super hero. I would be him because I work to protect people. Even at retail stores, when people are mistreating the employees and are being rude, I make it a point to step in and say something.

How do you define success and how do you measure it?
Not by what you have, but what you leave behind with family, how you treated people, how you looked out for others.
