A quality alarm system, such as those installed by Per Mar, will have the ability to indicate a communication failure locally. However, without an active telephone line the information cannot get to the Central Station.

Fortunately there are several options available for secure backup for your telephone line. There are Cellular, Long Range Radio, and most recently Internet, options available for this level of security.
