 According to the latest National Fire Prevention Association annual statistics for the U.S. there were 521,500 structural fires, an increase of 3.2% over the previous year. That means that a structural fire is attended by a fire department somewhere, every 60 seconds. Excluding events of 9/11/01, the losses from structural fires totaled $33,440,000,000.
